Daniel McRae was born September 24, 1976 in Laurel Mississippi, and is the youngest of Robert and Jane McRae's four children. He has two sisters, one brother, two brothers-in-law, two nephews, two nieces and one daughter.

Mr. McRae began his training with Universal under Mr. Ragone in November of 1994 shortly after graduating from James River High School. In May of 1998, Mr. McRae and 14 others tested for and received their Student Black Belts at the first of many seminars in Las Vegas, NV. Shortly thereafter he opened his first Universal branch under Mr. Ragone at the Roanoke Athletic Club in July of that same year. He was promoted to 1st Degree Black Belt the following year at the June 1999 Seminar in Las Vegas.

Mr. McRae continued training and running a part-time Karate school and became a full-time father when his daughter, Bryanna Nicole, was born the 10th of October 1999. His school began to grow and he enjoyed training at many of the branches being opened in the Roanoke Valley and Botetourt. In June of 2001 Mr. McRae was promoted to the rank of 2nd degree. The following year Mr. McRae had his first student to test for Student Black Belt, Lauren Foote. At the next Seminar, June 2003, Ms. Foote was promoted to 1st Degree, and another one of Mr. McRae's longtime students, Emily Beavers, received her Black Belt.

In January of the following year, Bryanna, (who was now a very bright 4 1/2 year old), began training under Mr. Ragone and his very talented Asst. Instructors at the Main Branch. In February of 2004 Mr. McRae was granted permission to open his second branch at Gold's gym. Four months later, Mr. McRae and 3 of the 17 who had tested for Black Belt in '98, were promoted to 3rd Degree Sr. Head Instructors.

The following February, 2005, Mr. McRae had another milestone with Universal. One of his students who had moved to Florida for school, decided to open a branch for Universal in the Port Orange Gold's gym. Stewart Peters was granted permission to open a branch under Mr. Ragone and Mr. McRae. Mr. McRae continues to run two part-time schools while continuing his training with his Instructors and seeking the Knowledge of the Void.

Mr. McRae is employed as the Head of Security at Corned Beef & Company, one of S.W. Va's largest bar and restaurants. To relax Mr. McRae enjoys playing the guitar and soccer.

Some take life as it comes, some let life take them where it will, still others go out & find life where they want it to be. Breathe & Smile - Daniel E. McRae
